Tom e Lisa Dowling

The Baroque Touch,” “Graffiti Culture Roma,” “Dowling Roman Adventure” and “Portals, Passages and Thresholds.” Attualmente vivono e lavorano in California. (U.S.A.).

Tom Dowling and his wife, Lisa Dowling, both OCC Art professors. A couple of American artists, that in their “artistic journey” got acquainted with and got mastery of different forms of art like drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, installation. In the fall of 2006, they spent a three-month sabbatical period in Rome, during which, Tom and Lisa, worked on four book projects: “The Baroque Touch,” “Graffiti Culture Roma,” “Dowling Roman Adventure” and “Portals, Passages and Thresholds.” Tom and Lisa work collaboratively in many genres, most notably sculpture, painting and photography. Both artists have many years of classical training in both photography and film, and Tom’s spare, minimal style is in marked contrast to Lisa’s layered compositions. This makes for a collaboration based on mutual respect for the other’s vision and style. Tom has taught art at OCC for over 25 years and his artwork is shown in both national and international venues. He has taught in England, Ireland, Italy and the U.S., has exhibited his shaped canvasses and photographic collages nationally and in Europe.
